# Mastheads > Mastheads is an on-demand AI newsroom. You ask for an article and a 9-desk pipeline finds real sources, writes it backed by those sources in your language and country, and delivers it - you publish to your own CMS or export it. An autonomous mode - the newsroom finding and producing stories on its own schedule - is built and being opened account by account. There are seven ways to ask: a single topic, a list of topics, a reusable structure crossed with your own data, a URL you already have, two subjects compared, a ranked list, or a term explained. Publishing is manual: you press Publish, and that click is the review. Unattended publishing is built and in limited release; where it runs, a gate holds back any article that misses its sources floor or fails the editor-in-chief, and says why. Mastheads is built for publishers, agencies, and niche-site operators who want AI content they can put their real name on: sourced, fact-checked, and verifiable, not the unsourced slop search engines demote. The nine desks run in sequence: Topic Desk, Editorial Desk, Research, Writers Desk, Fact Check, Standards, Editor-in-Chief, Art Desk, Publishing. ## Key facts - Source-backed by default. Research is a toggle that is ON: the desks find real sources and cite them inline. Turn it off for a faster draft written from the model's knowledge alone, and we ask you to confirm first - that article says on itself that it is not source-backed, in its own language, so it cannot reach your CMS looking like the sourced kind. - A voice you set per publication: tone, reading level, point of view and audience, plus your own banned words and standing instructions. Every article carries a real, named byline, and each publication names an editor of record who is accountable for it. - Every article carries an authenticity trace: the sources it used, the checks each desk actually ran, and what the desks could not fix. Open it and verify any article. - Four delivery targets: WordPress.org, WordPress.com, Ghost, and Draft-only (no site - just get the finished articles). - Any language and any country. A native newsroom register is curated for 11 countries (DE, SE, NL, GB, US, AU, IN, NO, CH, CA, IE); elsewhere the article is written in the target language plainly, never in an invented local style. - Site intelligence on every paid plan: Research - on-demand reports on what is worth covering, grounded in live sources and optionally your own Search Console data (10/50/100 reports a month by plan) - and Quorl, a whole-site SEO audit that only crawls a domain you proved you control (2/10/25 audits a month by plan). Neither is on the trial. - Your content is portable and never locked in: a read-only /v1 API to pull your domains and articles, plus export to Markdown and HTML. WordPress WXR, Ghost JSON and an account-wide archive are planned. - Compliance: EU AI Act Article 50 disclosure on AI content published without human review, and a visible AI credit on every generated image on both publish paths. An article you press Publish on carries no AI text label, deliberately: your review is the editorial act. A registered U.S. Copyright Office DMCA agent, with a published notice-and-takedown process. GDPR export and account deletion are self-serve from the dashboard; access, correction and other requests are answered at privacy@mastheads.app within 30 days. - Images: one cover image is drawn per article and carries a visible AI credit. Mastheads never takes a picture from the open web, so there is no stock-image rights question to clear. Asking for a different cover is planned, not built. - Pricing (USD, billed globally): Starter $99/mo (40 articles, up to 3 sites), Growth $249/mo (120 articles, up to 10 sites), Pro $599/mo (300 articles, up to 20 sites). Past that is a conversation, not a tier. Free 7-day trial: 10 articles, 1 site, no card required. ## Product - [Mastheads home](https://mastheads.app/): What Mastheads is and the problem it solves. - [What is an autonomous AI newsroom?](https://mastheads.app/autonomous-ai-newsroom): The category, defined - and how a working one delivers to WordPress and Ghost. - [How it works](https://mastheads.app/how-it-works): The editorial pipeline, stage by stage. - [The ways in](https://mastheads.app/ways-in): Every door into the newsroom - the seven ways to ask for an article, plus Find sources, Research and referrals. - [Pricing](https://mastheads.app/pricing): Plans, the single monthly-pool quota model, and the free trial. - [About](https://mastheads.app/about): Who builds Mastheads and the editorial stance. - [Trust](https://mastheads.app/trust): Quality, compliance, and data-ownership commitments. - [API reference](https://mastheads.app/docs/api): The read-only /v1 content API - four GET endpoints, key auth.
