How it counts

A delivered draft counts toward your article pool exactly like a published article - the pool is metered at delivery, not at publish.

The auto-publish boundary

A draft-only edition can never be set to auto-publish. Review stays in your hands for every article it delivers.

Fixed at creation

The mode is fixed at edition creation, so decide up front whether an edition is draft-only or connected to a CMS.
