Topics that find themselves.

We surface what is worth writing in your niche, your geography, your moment. You never stare at a blank brief.

↳ details
  • ·Aligned to your niche and country focus
  • ·Domains you never want cited are never fetched
  • ·Up to five keywords per topic, steering what it searches
II

Drafts in your voice.

Set the voice per publication - tone, reading level, point of view and audience, plus your own banned words and standing instructions. Every article carries a real, named byline.

↳ details
  • ·Set tone, reading level, point of view, and audience
  • ·Your own banned words and standing instructions
  • ·Named authors and one editor of record per publication
III

Quality gates, not chatbot wrappers.

Articles pass through multiple independent quality checks before publish. Any one can hold an article back. None ship silently.

↳ details
  • ·Claims cross-checked against source material
  • ·Format and SEO rules enforced before delivery
  • ·Held articles surfaced for your one-click review
IV

A cover drawn for the story.

Every article gets its own hero image, drawn for that piece rather than pulled from a stock library, and stored on our CDN so it stays reachable for as long as the article lives.

↳ details
  • ·One original cover per article, never stock
  • ·A visible AI credit wherever it publishes
  • ·Ask for another one - coming soon
V

Any language, one engine.

Write in any language, for any country. The newsroom register is tuned per country - German quotation marks, Swedish that ends on the last fact - not translated English.

↳ details
  • ·Any language, any country
  • ·Native newsroom register curated for 11 countries
  • ·Single subscription covers every language
VI

Any CMS, configure once.

Connect WordPress, WordPress.com, or Ghost - or choose draft-only and skip the connection entirely. Configure once. Switch CMS later without losing your voice configuration.

↳ details
  • ·WordPress, WordPress.com, Ghost, or draft-only
  • ·Article body, image and metadata handled
  • ·Credentials encrypted at rest; connection tested at setup
VII

Your archive, never locked in.

Read your domains, your articles and their images straight from your own code through the read-only /v1 API, take any article as Markdown or HTML, or download one archive of everything the account owns, self-serve, any time from Settings. WordPress WXR and Ghost JSON exports are still coming.

↳ details
  • ·Read it all from your own code - the v1 API is live
  • ·Any article as Markdown or HTML, no request, no waiting
  • ·Whole-account archive - self-serve from Settings; WordPress WXR and Ghost JSON still coming
VIII

Schedule once. Ship forever.

Set the times and a domain's newsroom files on its own schedule, in your time zone. Turn a domain off and it stops; turn it back on and it resumes. We're opening that up account by account right now.

↳ details
  • ·Daily cadence and time-of-day under your control
  • ·Enable or disable a domain whenever you want
  • ·Cancel any time, data retained 30 days
IX

Need a story now? Commission it.

Drop in a brief, or paste your own links, and the newsroom writes, illustrates, fact-checks and ships it through the same quality gates as everything else - on demand.

↳ details
  • ·Write from your own brief, or just paste links
  • ·Bring your own sources, or let it find them
  • ·Runs every quality gate - counts as bonus output
X

Watch your newsroom think.

A live feed in your dashboard shows every desk as it works - scouting, pulling and checking sources, drafting, fact-checking, and publishing. Not a progress bar. The actual newsroom, live.

↳ details
  • ·Real-time feed of every pipeline stage
  • ·See sources pulled and checks run as they happen
  • ·Your newsroom working, not a spinner
XI

Trace every article.

Every article carries a clean authenticity trace - the sources it used, the checks it passed, and the named editor behind it. Held drafts surface for your one-click review.

↳ details
  • ·Authenticity trace on every article - sources, checks, byline
  • ·Held drafts surfaced for review, not silently published
  • ·One click moves a held draft forward
XII

A registered agent for takedowns.

Mastheads is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office as a DMCA agent, with a published notice-and-takedown process. Generated covers carry a visible AI credit, so what is machine-made says so on the page.

↳ details
  • ·Registered U.S. Copyright Office DMCA agent
  • ·A published notice-and-takedown route
  • ·AI-generated covers are credited as such
XIII

Built for the disclosure rules.

A named editor of record on every domain, a visible AI credit on every generated image, and an article nobody read before publishing carries both a machine-readable marker and a visible label. An article you publish yourself does not - your click is the review.

↳ details
  • ·A named editor of record, accountable per domain
  • ·Generated images always carry a visible AI credit
  • ·Unattended publishing labels itself; your own publish is your review
XIV

No website? Get the articles anyway.

You don't need a site to start. Write on demand and take the finished articles away as Markdown or HTML - drafts-only is a complete way to use this, not a downgrade.

↳ details
  • ·Produce a full newsroom without connecting a site
  • ·Export any article as Markdown or HTML
  • ·Review every piece before it goes anywhere
XV

Engineered, not AI slop.

Google doesn't demote AI - it demotes unsourced, unchecked slop. Every Mastheads article is the opposite: researched from real sources, fact-checked, and carrying an authenticity trace you can open and verify.

↳ details
  • ·Written from real, cited sources - never invented
  • ·Open the authenticity trace and verify any article
  • ·Built to the standard Google rewards, not the slop it demotes
XVI

Every article planned from its own subject.

Unless you pin a fixed section structure yourself, the writer plans the sections from the subject, article by article - so two pieces on one topic do not arrive built the same way. How hard each one reads is measured against the level you asked for, and the number is shown on the article.

↳ details
  • ·Sections planned per article, unless you pin a structure
  • ·Readability measured, and a miss shown in amber rather than hidden
  • ·No house-style tic repeated across your archive

engineered, not slop

Don't trust it.
Verify it.

Google doesn't penalize AI - it demotes the unsourced, unchecked slop most tools churn out. Every Mastheads article is built to the opposite standard, and you can prove it on each one.

Source attribution · fact-checking · human oversight · transparency - the exact signals Google's 2026 updates reward, and the ones slop can't fake.

  • Written from real sources

Every article is researched from real, cited sources - never invented from thin air.

  • Trace every source

Each article carries an authenticity trace showing exactly where it came from. Open it and verify before anything ships.

  • Fact-checked before delivery

Independent fact-validation runs before an article is delivered - not bolted on afterward.

  • You approve it

Review by default. Nothing publishes without your sign-off, unless you explicitly choose otherwise.

  • Labeled, transparently

An EU AI Act disclosure rides on every piece - readers and search engines always know what they're reading.

Frequently asked, plainly answered.

Mastheads runs a complete editorial pipeline for your publication. It finds the topics worth covering in your niche, drafts each article in your voice with a real named byline, runs it through independent quality and fact-check gates, attaches an on-topic image, and publishes to your CMS on your schedule. You configure it once, and it ships while you sleep.

Signup is free - no card required. Your 7-day trial includes 10 articles on one site with the full editorial toolkit, same trial for everyone. When the week ends (or your 10 articles are spent), your newsroom pauses until you pick a plan ($99 Starter, $249 Growth, or $599 Pro). Nothing is ever charged unless you choose one - trial overage is hard-capped, so there are no surprise charges. If you want more articles during the trial, you can buy one-time $3 article credits that never expire and carry into whichever paid plan you pick.

You see the problem before you publish, because the article carries its own record. A paid-for draft is never thrown away: a problem the desks cannot fix is retried, and if it still stands the article ships with the shortfall written down rather than being quietly passed. The authenticity panel lists what each desk checked, what it could not fix in that desk's own words, and the repair it would take - so a thin sources count, a reading level that missed, or an unverified passage is stated, not hidden behind a green tick. From there you edit the article in place, or ask us: support writes a ticket with a reference and we reply by email, usually within one business day.

Generation stops at your allowance, and the check runs before the work is done rather than after - so nothing is silently billed and there is no auto-top-up. From there you buy credits or move up a plan, whichever fits. Your allowance is one monthly pool with no daily cap; what does apply is an hourly ceiling on how many articles a team can start, shared across everyone on it, generous enough that a normal run never meets it.

Yes, and it is worth being exact about which parts come with which plan. Tone, reading level, and point of view are preset pickers every plan has, the trial included, alongside the topics you cover and an ignored-domains list so paywalled outlets are never fetched or cited. Authoring your own voice - your standing instructions, your banned words, your audience, and whether the writer may mention your publisher - sits on Growth and Pro, together with Blueprints. One honest limit: voice settings are instructions to the writer rather than switches checked afterward, so a banned word can still slip through.

WordPress.org, WordPress.com, and Ghost, plus export if you don't run a site - and a connection is never required to be useful, since export is the default. Publishing is manual: the pipeline never pushes anything live, you press Publish on an article. Credentials are live-probed before they are stored, and a failed probe stores nothing. Two limits worth knowing: it is one connection per domain, and where WordPress updates the same post in place, Ghost is create-only, so publishing there again posts a new article and leaves the first one up. Export is Markdown and HTML today; WordPress WXR, Ghost JSON, and a whole-account archive are planned, not built. You can also pull your articles from your own code through the read-only v1 API with a key you issue in Settings. Further destinations are listed on the Connectors page and marked Soon - naming them is a stated intent, not a delivery date.

Any language, for any country. Articles are written natively in the target language - grammar and idiom that read like a native speaker wrote them, not an English draft run through a translator afterward. Beyond the language itself, the local newsroom register is curated for 11 countries: Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, India, Norway, Switzerland, Canada, and Ireland. Everywhere else the article is written in your language plainly, with no invented local style - we would rather say nothing about local convention than guess at it. The same fact-check gates and named bylines apply whichever language you write in, and two publications on one account can each run in a different one. No plan gates which languages you can write in.

Articles are written from scratch using source material as reference, not copy. Every article passes quality validation before publish. We measure and minimize overlap with existing public content.

Yes. Articles publish into your site and belong to you. No royalty, no licensing, no attribution back to Mastheads required.

Each publication has a named editor of record, and EU AI Act Article 50 disclosure plus source attribution are built in. Articles carry real, named bylines, and GDPR data export and erasure are available on request.

Every paid plan already runs multiple sites - Starter up to 3, Growth up to 10, Pro up to 20. Past that, uncapped sites and volume, custom integrations and custom CMS targets are agreed per contract rather than sold as a tier. From 500 articles a month. Email us directly.

You set how many articles each section should publish per day. That number is the maximum - the engine fills it as far as real news allows, and on thin-news days it publishes fewer rather than fabricate. So output varies: some days a section is full, some days lighter. If you feel it has materially underdelivered for reasons within our control, contact us and we'll make it right, typically with article credits.

Yes. One click in the billing portal. Article generation stops at the end of your current billing period. Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation in case you change your mind, per our Privacy Policy - and you can export your full archive at any time.

Yes. Every article is available through a read-only API and a one-click export in WordPress, Ghost, Markdown, and HTML formats, with all images. The API needs an active subscription or trial, but your export is always downloadable from your dashboard, including from the cancel screen. Your content is never locked in.
